THE BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MÁLAGA NEEDS TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE: Technician.

Research line: TRANSLATIONAL STUDIES TO EVALUATE BIOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL CLINICAL PROFILES IN PATIENTS WITH MALIGNANT HEMOPATHIES.

Functions to develop:

• Isolation of mononuclear cells using Ficoll-Paque density gradient and subsequent monolayer culture.
• Phenotypic characterization of MSCs by analyzing the expression of surface markers using flow cytometry.
• Evaluation of the multipotentiality of mesenchymal stem cells. For this, the cells will be cultured in different media that will favor the differentiation of stem cells towards three mesenchymal lineages such as adipocytes, chondrocytes and osteocytes.
• Evaluation of other different functional capacities in vitro.
• Isolation of exosomes.
• Quantification of exosomes.
• Morphological characterization of exosomes using transmission electron microscopy.
• Determination of the size distribution of exosomes in liquid suspension and the Z potential by nanoparticle tracking analysis.
• Phenotypic characterization by analyzing the expression of surface markers using Western Blot.
• Proteomic study of the composition of exosomes from cancer patients and healthy subjects.
• Evaluate the effects of exosomes on the viability of cancer cells.

Minimum requirements :

1.BACHELOR IN SCIENCE

2.PhD IN ADVANCED BIOTECHNOLOGY

Valuable Requirements :

– Master in genetics or similar (2 points)

– Average command of English (minimum B2) (1 point)

– Animal experimentation course (1.5 point)

– Complementary training related to research (0.25 points for each course, maximum 1 point)

– Experience of at least two years in cell therapy (0.5 points per year, maximum 1.5 points)

The aforementioned requirements must be accredited by means of a certificate from a competent body or a responsible declaration.

Contract details :

• Contracting modality: Contract for scientific-technical activities. (art. 23 bis of the Science and Technology Law Law 14/2011).

• Gross annual remuneration: €20,000 (Fixed)
• Estimated duration: 12 months extendable – The contract is linked to the duration of the project / activity / financing.

Selection process :

• Based on the points obtained in the merit assessment, at least the three best candidates will be selected to carry out a personal interview in which communication skills, aptitude for work and skills will be assessed, with a maximum of 3 points. Only those candidates who obtain at least 50% of the evaluable merit points will be eligible for the interview phase.
• After the resolution of the position and in the event that the selected candidate resigns from the contract, the hiring table may decide to resolve in favor of the next candidate according to the list of scores.
