The mission of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is to achieve the highest level of scientific and technological excellence in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Its research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behaviour of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 has been awarded with the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence distinction for three consecutive periods (2014-2018 and 2018-2022 and 2023-2026). ICN2 comprises 19 Research Groups, 7 Technical Development and Support Units and Facilities, and 2 Research Platforms, covering different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Research area or group: Finance Department

Description of Group/Project:

The ICN2 Finance Department is split into two areas: administration and accounting.

The administration team oversees all of the institute's administrative functions. Each research group, unit, facility and department has a contact person responsible for all administrative tasks in order to ensure fluid communication and adaptation of the service to the specific needs of unit in question. Sales and billing management is also carried out by this team.

Meanwhile, the accounting team is responsible for the overall financial reporting and control. Reporting is carried out both internally and externally, in fulfilment of the institute's legal obligations as set out by the Spanish tax office and other public bodies, trustees, dashboards and internal economic reports. Its responsibilities include financial analysis, budget monitoring, treasury and public tenders.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

Support in the following tasks:

  • Centralize the labeling of the center's assets. Label assets, keep track, and follow up, as well as centralize the purchase of labels and logos.
  • Prepare documentation for purchase orders for accounting (delivery note, invoice, discrepancies, ...)
  • Additions and deletions in databases (additions of business contacts, purchase items...)
  • Database management between purchasing applications and the accounting program
  • Order management for year-end closing (provisions, claims, ...)
  • Compile travel and expense documentation (invoices, receipts, ...)

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE), Accounting, or a similar field.
  • Knowledge: Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel, and SAP BO
  •  Professional experience: Less than 3 years, in finance departments or in purchasing departments where you have managed orders and delivery notes.
  • Personal Competences: Responsible, methodical, capable of teamwork, good interpersonal skills with colleagues and center users, and organized.

Summary of conditions:

  • Full time work (37,5h/week)
  • Contract Length: Temporary (1 year)
  • Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
  • Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
  • Support to the relocation issues.
  • Life Insurance.

Candidate requirements:

  • Being unemployed and registered in the "Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya" the day before the contract starts.
  • Being between 16 and 30 years old.
  • Meeting the requirements for formalizing a training contract
