We have a fully funded PhD / Postdoc opportunity available in data analytics and machine learning applied to the power generation sector:

Advanced algorithms to support operation and improve performance of gas turbines in hybrid/virtual future power plants considering emissions reduction and grid demand prediction. Full description here

The research aims to analyse, propose and develop machine learning controllers to support operation and improve performance of gas turbines in new virtual/hybrid power generation scenarios, considering emission reduction and grid demand prediction. The funded position is supported by CITCEA-UPC  and IDEAI-UPC. Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligenc  researchers at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya .

Skills/Qualifications

We are seeking motivated and talented young researchers. The prerequisites are as follows:

  • Candidates in possession of official Spanish bachelor’s degrees (or equivalent) in Computer science, Telecommunications or Industrial engineering, and master’s degrees (or equivalent) in Data Science, Artificial intelligence, Industrial or Energy provided that they have earned at least 300 ECTS credits over the two courses of study.
  • Good knowledge in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
  • Excellent command in spoken and written Technical English
  • Good programming skills on Python, Matlab, R or equivalent
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary research teams
