The Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology (IMN, CSIC)  is an applied research institute 25 km north of Madrid with ~25 research staff and ~ 50 postdocs and PhDs integrated in the Excellence Campus CSIC-UAM. It combines the best from university and research institutions to conduct research in different areas of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, at the intersection of Physics, Biology and Material Science.

IMN-CSIC is also part of the QTEP+ directive , whereby 10 CSIC research institutes try to push the boundaries of Quantum Science and Technology.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

The applicant will join a European project team and be responsible for the simulation and characterization of novel single photon source devices. He or She will carry on with the optical and electrical analysis of multi-junction semiconductor devices including:

  • Simulation and measurement of device I-V and RF characteristics.
  • Use of single photon micro-spectroscopy techniques at cryogenic temperatures
