Efficient & Sustainable Transport Systems in Smart Cities: Internet of Things, Transport Analytics, and Agile Algorithms, TransAnalytics

This project aims to develop transport analytics, sustainable models, T&M algorithms, and software solutions that allow: (a) quantify the environmental benefits associated with the use of green technologies; (b) allow efficient and real-time use of green technologies and emerging T&M modes, including ridesharing, caresharing, and cooperation between operators; and (c) contribute to saving energy and reducing the social impact of T&M activities in the smart cities of the future.

The project analyzes transport and mobility (T&M) activities as an element of energy consumption, environmental and social impact. Initiatives are emerging in metropolitan areas to make cities more efficient and sustainable. E-commerce has shot up the number of T&M operations in urban and metropolitan areas, and the number of 0-emission vehicles. On these new mobility models, such as vehicle sharing and shared travel, there is a need to address new strategic, planning and operational challenges. The project aims to develop transport analytics, sustainable models, T&M algorithms and software solutions that allow a more efficient and sustainable use of possible alternatives.
