Job title: Scalable and Explainable Machine Learning

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

The purpose of this contract is the collaboration in one of the active research lines of the group to be carried out in the framework of the above mentioned project. The work is framed within Machine Learning and Explainable Artificial Intelligence. The objective is the development and application of machine learning models to obtain explainable results in recommender systems in dyadic data processing. It will explore the idea that these explanations can be learned from the data that users leave in systems where they search for recommendations, such as TripAdvisor. The contracted researcher will help develop, implement and evaluate new methods in this area.

Requirements

- Qualifications required: Equivalent to the Spanish grades of the Bachillerato, BUP, FPII, Ciclo Formativo Superior.

- Demonstrable experience in Python programming language that can be accredited by means of courses, software projects on platforms such as GitHub, end-of-degree projects or similar.

- Demonstrable experience in Machine Learning that can be accredited by means of courses, software projects on platforms such as GitHub, end-of-degree projects or similar.

- Obtain at least 70 points in the selection criteria specified below.

The post may not be filled if none of the candidates exceeds this threshold.

Eligibility criteria

Selection criteria (maximum 100 points)

A. Academic record of the credits passed in a Degree in Computer Engineering or a related degree (max. 40 points). If the average grade (weighted by the number of credits taken) is less than 7.5 or if it is a related degree, the score obtained will be multiplied by 0.5 (by 0.25 if both are given at the same time). Other degrees will not score in this section.

B. Demonstrable knowledge in the field of the tasks to be performed (Machine learning and environments such as MatLab, R, Scikit-Learn and others) which may be accredited by means of software projects on platforms such as GitHub, final degree or master's degree work, or similar (maximum 35 points).

B.1. Machine learning in environments such as Python, Apache Spark, MatLab and others (maximum 1 point per 10 hours of course/project up to a maximum of 15 points). B.2. Anomaly detection systems (maximum 1 point for 10 hours of course/project, up to a maximum of 15 points).

B.3. Other fields of Artificial Intelligence (maximum 0,25 points for 10 hours of course/project, up to a maximum of 5 points).

C. Knowledge of English: maximum 5 points (from 0,25 points per level from A1 to B2. A score of 1,5 points will be awarded for level C1 and 2 points for level C2).

D. Other merits not considered in the previous points (courses, awards...): maximum 5 points, Awards received: up to 3 points depending on the regional (1 point), national (2 points) or international (3 points) scope. Training in research summer schools and similar: up to 3 points (1 point per summer school course).

E. Personal interview: 15 points. Personal interview of the three candidates with the highest scores, provided that their scores in the other sections are less than 15% lower than those of the candidate with the highest scores
