Job title: Application of emergent technologies based in MIPs for the quantification of micotoxinas in raw materials

Research line / Scientific-technical services: Scientific Research Services

CONTRACT OBJECT: Hiring a Research support assistant in the Plasma-Mass Spectrometry Unit for the study of the interaction between molecular imprinted polymers (MIPS) used in the rapid analysis of mycotoxins and metallic nanoparticles with antifungal activity used in animal feed raw materials.

TASKS:

• Support in the tasks of the Plasma-Mass Spectrometry Unit (UEPM) of the SAI (Research Support Services)

• Preparation of samples for total metals and metal nanoparticles analyses

• Analysis of metals by ICP-MS and metal nanoparticles by SP-ICP-MS

• Analysis of nanoparticles by FFF-ICP-MS

• Hg analysis using direct analysis methodology

Eligibility criteria

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA (100 points):

• University Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry (14 points)

• Work experience in Reaseach Support Services (maximum 30 points. 2,5 points per month worked).

• Experience in Metal analysis techniques (ICP-MS, Hg direct analysis, etc) (maximum 12 points, 1 point per month worked)

• Experience in sample preparation techniques for metal analysis (closed microwave extraction, high pressure microwave extraction, hot block digestion systems, etc) (maximum 6 points, 0.5 points per month worked)

• Level B2 of knowledge of English language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (6 points)

• Safety courses at the work in laboratories (8 points, 0.16 points per hour, maximum 50 hours)

• Personal Interview (25 points). The personal interview will be carried out with the 3 candidates with higher scores and will only take place if it could have influence on the choice of the person selected Candidates who do not obtain a minimum of 40 points (not counting the personal interview) will be automatically discarded. The job will be vacant if no candidate reaches the minimum score (40 points). A waiting list of the best candidates will be created..
