Research on biofunctionalization of metallic nanoparticles for cancer cell targeting

Updated: almost 3 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 27 Jul 2021

The Laboratory on Nanomagnetism of the Physical Chemistry department is seeking for a candidate to apply for a two-year post-doctoral position at the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU.

The laboratory is currently working on a European grant to explore novel cancer therapies based on magnetic particle actuation. It is a multidisciplinary project that involves physicists for fabrication and characterization of magnetic particles, chemists for a specific functionalization of particle surfaces, and biologists for in-vitro assays with cancer cells.

The candidate must demonstrate experience in metallic surface functionalization with polymers, proteins, and fluorochromes. She/he will develop specific biofunctionalization protocols for selective targeting of skin cancer cells with magnetic particles.

The position will be funded upon a positive evaluation in the UPV/EHU call for María Zambrano category grants. (https://www.ehu.eus/es/web/ikerketaren-kudeaketa/-/ayudas-para-la-recual... )
