Offer Description
VHIR offers a vacancy for a research associate in biobanking within the Rheumatology Research Group and the IMID-Biobank.
Main responsibilities and duties
- Lead the research of cutting-edge technology and techniques applicable to biobanking based on emerging interests in biomedical research
- New protocol development and implementation on sample collection and sample processing methods, mainly related to cutting-edge omic-based approaches
- Identify promising new concepts in scientific publications applicable to biobanking
- Benchmark on biobanking procedures and workflows
- Set up of new operational procedures in the biobank directory
- Review current SOPs to identify areas for improvement
- Assist in biobanking and key lab operations

Education and qualifications
- PhD in the field of biosciences
Experience and knowledge
Required:
- 4 years of work experience
- Experience in cellular and molecular biology assays
- Background in immunology, molecular and cellular biology and analytical techniques
- Knowledge and experience in omic technologies applications (i.e. single cell technologies, RNAseq, proteomics…)
- Knowledge and experience in tissue collection, processing and analysis Significant experience in troubleshooting, method development, and optimization of biology assays
- Proven ability to write SOPs and train others to successfully perform the work
- Experience in quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001 environments)
- Good computer skills, basic knowledge in bioinformatic and statistical analysis
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (written and spoken)
- Good writing and communication skills
