The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for up to four (4) Research Assistant positions to work in the research project “Representative Government Through Democratic Governance (REPGOV) ”, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). REPGOV studies the relationship between public administration and democratic values.

We are seeking candidates at the post-graduate/pre-doctoral level with a background in constitutional and administrative law to begin as soon as possible. Each research assistant will contribute to our understanding of democratic and administrative values from constitutional and secondary sources.

Strong academic and/or professional experience in administrative and constitutional law is essential. Candidates must also have excellent research and analytical skills and be able to contribute to collaborative research projects. Each intern will work on a single country context: Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belgium and the United Kingdom. In-depth knowledge of the legal architecture of one of these three countries is required. In addition, fluency in English is essential, both orally and written.

Each internship requires 20 hours/week for 1 month (extendable if needed) of work that can be arranged full- or part-time as well as fully or partially remotely. The successful candidates do not need to be based in Barcelona. The monetary stipend is commensurate with that for similar positions at IBEI.
