TITLE: R1 - Junior Engineer/Early Stage Researcher on advanced control techniques for Renewable Energies

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Power Systems Group announces the opening of a position as Junior Engineer / Early Stage Researcher to work on different projects in the area of advanced control techniques for integration of renewable energies into the electric systems. The tasks to be carried out will be focused on design, modelling, and simulations, and if possible, experimental validation into the IREC Energy SmartLab.

Qualifications and experience required:

Essential:

• Bachelor or Master in Industrial Automatic Control, Control Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or field related. Last year students may also be considered
• Good knowledge on control theory and automation systems.
• Knowledge of multivariable control, distributed controls and Model Predictive controls.
• Experience in modelling of dynamic systems.

Preferred:

• Experience in programming languages as Python, Matlab, others.
• Experience with renewable energy sources control
• Knowledge of optimization techniques and Heuristic algorithms.
• Knowledge in system identification
• Knowledge on state estimation.
• Knowledge on sensors and programming boards as Arduino and/or Raspberry pi.

Language required:

Fluent in English. (knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan is a plus)
