ARQUIMEA Research Center (ARC)  , part of ARQUIMEA,   was born in 2020 with the aim of inventing the technologies of tomorrow. We focus on Deep Tech solutions with a very high impact on the markets and/or future global challenges. We rely on a product-oriented strategy, market diversification, and internationalization to achieve sustainable growth to create the technology of tomorrow. Our projects arise from the convergence of exponential technologies and are grouped into 4 orbitals: AI, Quantum, Robotics and Biotech.

 

We are looking for a Quantum Technology Expert be located in our office in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife- Canary Islands-).

 

Tasks to be performed:

  • Lead a new division focused on accelerating the transfer of quantum technologies to society and the market.
  • Guide the new division from a scientific and strategic perspective.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the division, in line with company goals and market trends.
  • Guide different projects within the division towards high-impact technologies close to application.
  • Lead an interdisciplinary team of scientists working in quantum technologies.
  • Collaborate with industry and academic partners to advance quantum technologies.
  • Participate as Principal Investigator in relevant European projects, contributing to the development of new quantum technologies.
  • Manage the technology transfer process of quantum technologies from research to industrial applications.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, promoting collaborations and partnerships to advance quantum technologies.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at scientific conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of quantum technologies.

 

Required skills, experience and candidate profile:

  • PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quantum technology research and development. leading and managing interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience and deep knowledge in quantum algorithms, computing, and programming.
  • Deep knowledge of the quantum sensing and metrology field: technologies and trends.
  • Deep knowledge of quantum communication field: technologies and trends.
  • Experience as Principal Investigator in relevant European projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent publication record in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Expertise in technology transfer and industrial cooperation.
  • Open minded and ready to be challenged with multi-disciplinary R&D projects.
  • Proficient in English.
