About the research group

This group’s research covers various lines of clinical and microbiological research, and includes multiple-antibiotic-resistant bacterial infectious, which are a large cause of morbidity and mortality. The study of risk factors and clinical characteristics in hospital-acquired infections, as well as the knowledge of genotypes, virulence factors and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of bacterial pathogens, are essential for controlling epidemic outbreaks due to multi-resistant bacteria.

The predoctoral student will be involved in the study of opportunistic pathogens isolated from patients with chronic respiratory disease. This molecular epidemiology project will use next generation sequencing as a tool to study the most common respiratory pathogens (WGS) and the composition of the respiratory samples (16S microbiome).
