Professor Antonio Penta (ICREA, UPF and Barcelona GSE) is looking to hire 2 pre-doctoral researchers. The positions are part time and will be based at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. (The starting date is September 2021). The appointment is until December 31st, 2021. The position is ideal for graduate students in economics, or for students with a long-term interest in economics who are looking for research experience in an academic setting prior to embarking on a Ph.D. in Economics.
Research Description: The research is on questions of game theory and mechanism design, particularly related to themes of robustness and implementation. The job duties include:
1. Theoretical work: solving game theoretic models, problems of individual decision making, and calibration exercises.
2. Design and implementation of lab experiments.
3. Attention to detail and documenting the research tasks performed are a crucial part of the job. The candidate will also be expected to conduct independent literature reviews.
