Offer Description
The pre-doctoral contract (1) offer the possibility of returning to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) to that graduate of the Law Degree of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria who is studying a Doctorate Programme at a University other than the ULPGC, allowing the selected candidate to return and study a Doctorate Programme at the ULPGC free of charge, and with an annual remuneration of 24,000 euros, as well as the possibility of an extension for another year, depending on the funding granted by the Ilustre Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria.
The work would be research aimed at completing the doctoral thesis and proceeding to its defence at the ULPGC, on a full-time basis, on a legal topic in any of the areas of the Law Degree.
The selected must resign from the Doctoral Programme in which they are enrolled before accepting the contract and enrol in one of the Doctoral Programmes of the ULPGC with a legal line, unless a doctorate in co-tutelage with the foreing University of origin is possible, in accordance with the provisions of RD 99/2011.
The Director of the thesis, or one of the Co-Directors, must be a Professor of the ULPGC who meets the requirements of the call.
The selected researchers must be enrolled in one of the ULPGC Doctoral Programmes and be part of a Recognised Research Group of the ULPGC, as well as being linked to a ULPGC´s Research Project.
Successful candidate will have the right to use all ULPGC facilities and to teach in accordance with the regulations in force for pre-doctoral researchers.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates must have the necessary skills and competences to carry out research tasks in any of the branches of the legal system, be enrolled in a Doctoral Programme, which they must renounce for the purpose of enrolling in one of those offered by the ULPGC and which has a line or sub-line in legal sciences, as well as a good curriculum vitae, according to the evaluation criteria. |
Specific Requirements
To be eligible for one of these pre-doctoral contracts, the following requirements must be met:
a) To have completed a Law Degree at the ULPGC.
b) Be enrolled in a Doctoral Programme at another national or foreign university on a full-time basis and renounce, once selected and enrolled in a ULPGC Programme, to continue enrolling in the foreign Doctoral Programme of origin, unless the co-tutelle regime with the University "U", regulated in RD 99/2011, is applicable.
c) Endorsement of a PDI doctor with a full-time civil servant or employee relationship with the ULPGC in any area of Law and who has at least one active six-year research o transfer periode.
d) Pre-register, be admitted and be enrolled in one of the ULPGC Doctoral Programmes where there is a line or sub-line in the branch of Legal Sciences, before the end of the first year of the contract.
e) Deposit and defend the thesis at the ULPGC.

- For each Bachelor's degree with a grade point average equal to or higher than 7: up to 4 points.
- For each bachelor's degree with an average grade equal to or higher than 7: up to 3 points
- For each Diploma with an average grade equal to or higher than 7: up to 2 points
- For each Master's degree with an average grade equal to or higher than 8: up to 1 point.

- European Cooperation Project and other competitive international projects (Interreg, Poctefex, Llp, Erasmus Plus, etc.): 3 points.

4. Dissemination of research results:

6. Postgraduate research stays (undergraduate, graduate, diploma or master's degree) in national or foreign centres of one month or more: up to 1 point (0.10 per full month).
7. Presentation of papers at conferences, symposia or similar: up to 2 points

c) Autonomous: 0.25
8. B2 in a language foreign to that of the applicant´s mother tounge: 0.5 points.
9. To have completed, in addition to the Bachelor's Degree in Law, the Master's Degree in Law at the ULPGC or any other Master's Degree at the ULPGC in the branch of Social and Legal Sciences or those that have a line or sub-line of that branch: 1 point.
10. Number of six-year of research periods of the Director or Co-director of the ULPGC: up to 0.60 points (0.10 per six-year period of research or transfer; if there is more than one thesis director, the one with the highest number of six-year periods will be evaluated).

Additional comments
The duration of the contracts is one year, extendable for a further year if the budget is available.
