MDEA Energy Institute is a María de Maeztu Center of Excellence whose objective is to develop R&D activities in the fields of renewable energies and clean energy technologies by establishing strong links with leading companies in the energy sector. (www.energy.imdea.org ).

DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Position between the Electrical Systems and Electrochemical Processes Unit to work on modelling of battery systems for their application in electricity Grid

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

  • R&D in battery modelling for grid applications.
  • Development of a holistic model of battery systems.
  • Implementation and proof of concept studies in laboratory environment for battery modelling.
  • Participation in national and international research projects related with battery Grid Integration.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.

Specific Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements

  • PhD. Title in Electronic or Industrial Engineering, Control Systems, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Physical Chemistry or related disciplines.

Other merits to value:

  • Solid background in Battery Modelling, Power Electronics, Control Systems and Communication Networks.
  • Good understanding of System Modelling, Power Networks, Renewable Energy Technologies, IT technologies and Real-Time Control systems.
  • At least 1 year experience of working with modelling systems in Python, Matlab (and Matlab Simulink) and MILP tools.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English

Benefits

CONDITIONS

  • Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

           *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Duration of the contract: Until the end of the project, with the possibility of extension.
