Postdoctoral Researcher (Ref Postdoc 2021-26 FM)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher.

ICIQ is committed to performing excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in the broad area of chemistry (Catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, Activation of Small Molecules, Photovoltaics, Functional Molecular Assemblies and Chemical Biology, from either theoretical or experimental perspectives). ICIQ is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Feliu Maseras. The candidate will work on the computational estimation of the degradation time of solids.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will help in the implementation of new computational schemes developed in the group from studies of ball milling mechanochemistry to other processes. These will include drug degradation and decomposition of recalcitrant residues. A special focus will be placed in the proper introduction of microkinetic modeling with the goal of reproducing experimental data to the point of reaction times. Collaboration in the training of graduate and master students will be expected.
