The ICO Girona Hematology Department is the reference unit for the health region of the province of Girona, caring for 850.000 inhabitants. We are a Consolidated Research Group according to the evaluation made by the Generalitat of Catalonia SGR2017 call.

The research objectives of the group are related to the study of biological, clinical, and epidemiological aspects of hematological diseases, by carrying out translational research projects focused on finding prognostic factors or treatment response predictors. To date we have been specially focused on immune response after allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation, acute myeloid leukemia and multiple myeloma.

We are also participating in clinical trials for the evaluation of new treatment strategies in hematological malignancies.

What we need

The applicant should show an excellent scientific record and interest in the following topics: molecular and cellular biology of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes, multiple myeloma or immunology/immunotherapy.

Apart from outstanding scientific output, candidates must have experience in the application of competitive proposals as principal investigators and should be able to coordinate the research team together with the Group Leader, to develop their own research projects and to support ongoing studies performed by other investigators within the group.

A PhD is life sciences is a must have.
