The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona and dedicated to advancing our understanding about leukaemia and related disorders, in partnership with the University of Barcelona and University Autònoma of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in four clinical campuses: i) Clinic Hospital, ii) Sant Pau Hospital and iii) Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and iv) Dr. Josep Trueta University Hospital. IJC serves as a collaborative hub for basic investigators and physicians to work together on fundamental biological and clinical aspects of leukaemia. The IJC offers an excellent work environment built around a multi-disciplinary fusion of ideas and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute – Girona, needs to incorporate a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Hematology Service.

Research Description

The ICO Girona Hematology Department is the reference unit for the health region of the province of Girona, caring for 850.000 inhabitants.

We are a Consolidated Research Group according to the evaluation made by the Generalitat of Catalonia SGR2017 call. The research objectives of the group are related to the study of biological, clinical, and epidemiological aspects of hematological diseases, by carrying out translational research projects focused on finding prognostic factors or treatment response predictors. To date we have been specially focused on immune response after allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation, acute myeloid leukemia and multiple myeloma.

We are also participating in clinical trials for the evaluation of new treatment strategies in hematological malignancies.
