Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical Biology

A postdoctoral position is offered at the Chemical Immunology Laboratory in CIC bioGUNE (www.cicbiogune.es ), Bilbao (Spain). The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and vibrant research group at the chemistry/immunology interface (https://www.cicbiogune.es/people/afernandeztejada ) to work on the chemical synthesis of carbohydrate/peptide-based adjuvants, molecular vaccines, and probes to advance their potential as pharmacological, structural, and/or mechanistic tools.

R e qu i red qualifications a nd ex p e r i e n c e

• PhD in Organic Chemistry/Chemical Biology with multi-step synthesis experience
• Skilled in carbohydrate and glycopeptide chemistry.
• Proven track-record of accomplishments in the lab demonstrated through high-profile publications in top journals as a first author.
• Motivated and committed to research excellence at the chemistry/immunology frontier
• Good command of written and spoken English and interpersonal skills
• Open, proactive, and able to develop individual projects and work in a team
• In addition to research, other responsibilities will include lab management, writing manuscripts and mentoring students

Co nd i t i on s / B e n e f i t s

The successful candidate will be employed by CIC bioGUNE. Health care and social security coverage are provided by the Spanish system. The successful applicant will be assessed yearly based on his/her performance and productivity, with the possibility of renewal for 12-month periods.
