Project: PROTECTING THE BRAIN FROM METASTATIC BREAST CANCER

Position location: BIODONOSTIA HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE (SAN SEBASTIAN-GIPUZKOA)

Roles and responsibilities R2

  • Developing and establishing a living model of breast cancer brain metastasis.
  • Developing research projects, technological development and technical support.
  • Drafting of submissions for conferences and scientific papers.

EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate in molecular biology or similar.
  • PhD in molecular biology, chemistry or similar.
  • More that 3 years of post-doc experience, preferably with animal models.
  • Valid license to work with animals, category C or higher.

SKILLS:

Desired experience and proficiency in:

  • Working with animals, especial models of murine cancer.
  • Molecular biology techniques including genomic assays, microarrays and next-generation sequencing.
  • Handling clinical material.
  • Person sought after who is well organized with a proactive attitude and the ability to learn.
  • It is crucial to have good communication and team work skills.
  • Essential to have a high level of spoken and written English. Minimum First Certificate (proof of certification).
  • Computer skills (user level with office software).

*Disability certificates equal or greater than 33% shall be valued.

A 24-month contract is offered with the possibility of it being extended, provided that the project duration is extended and there is sufficient funding for the continuation of the employment contract.

Type of working day: Full-time (35 hours a week). From 9am to 2pm and 3pm to 5pm.

Planned start date: 02/14/2022.

Salary: €30,800 gross a year (depending on the candidate's experience and value).

*There is the possibility that the remuneration may be assigned according to the candidate's dedication and value (mobility, experience and training) and their suitability for the position offered.

The employee shall comply with the center's operating standards, in terms of commitment, duties to be performed, timetable and vacations.
