Offer Description

The basic research group led by Dr. Olga Tura-Ceide at the Hospital Universitari de Girona Dr. Josep Trueta, Girona Biomedical Research Institute-IDIBGI, Girona, Spain, located 40 minutes by train from Barcelona, is currently inviting applications for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate. The current position involves applying for a postdoctoral fellowship full-time contract. If you are passionate about contributing to our research, we encourage you to apply.

Project Overview: The selected candidate will join a translational research multidisciplinary team at the Hospital de Girona Dr. Josep Trueta and the research laboratory of the Institute for Biomedical Research of Girona (IdIBGi). The focus of the project is to investigate the role of endothelial dysfunction in endothelial cells derived from patients with sleep apnea syndrome and pulmonary hypertension. The translational research will delve into identifying novel mechanisms and treatments targeting endothelial dysfunction, thromboembolism, angiogenesis, metabolism, organoid 3D systems, oxidative stress, and animal models. The research will employ a wide range of molecular and cellular techniques, in vitro organoid 3D models, and in vivo animal models. We welcome inquiries for detailed information about the project

Skills/Qualifications

Hold a Ph.D. in a Life Science discipline, obtained in the last 5 years.

Possess a good publication record as the first-second-senior-corresponding author in high-impact factor journals (Q1) in the last 6 years


Specific Requirements

Additional Valued Criteria:

Previous experience in molecular and cellular biology research.

Doctorate award, doctorate with European mention, FSE, or Río Hortega. Experience abroad (>1 year).

Demonstrate a strong work ethic, responsibility, and the ability to work independently.

Exhibit good teamwork skills
