Our group works with gastruloids, aggregates of embryonic stem cells that mimic gastrulation. The project involves modelling aspects of this process with the aim of undersanding the contribution of mechanical and chemical signals to the patterning of the mammalian embryo.

The successful applicants will participate in a project focused on the use of embryonic organoids derived from mouse Embryonic Stem Cells to study early mammalian development. Their job will be to use and develop gastruloid technology to understand early mammalian embryonic development. Specifically there is a requirement to be well versed in mammalian developmental or cell biology with skills in genetics and bioinformatics and then, either advanced microscopy or biochemistry. The job will include integrating in a multidisciplinary research group, give presentations in local and international meetings, being able to write grant applications. There will be opportunities to supervise students and participate in teaching.
