Offer Description
The Research Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety of the University of Barcelona (Spain), accredited with the “María de Maeztu" excellence award (CEX2021-001234-M), launches its Postdoctoral Program aiming at hiring an excellent researcher who wishes to carry out a 2-year stay/postdoctoral research project working in some of the Institute’s research lines within the research area “Food Control”.
This call aims to offer an excellent postdoctoral training program to young researchers of any nationality, attract talent and strengthen the Institute's main research areas, contributing to the training of the new generation of scientific leaders. Candidates must be researchers with excellent and outstanding experience and contributions in their scientific discipline.

Specific Requirements
• The call for applications is intended for researchers who finished their doctoral degree up to seven years prior to the application deadline.
• The call is open to candidates of any nationality.
• In case of interruption of the research activity between the date PhD degree and the application deadline, the period in which the doctoral degree must have been obtained may be extended beyond seven years for the following reasons:
o Illness or accident resulting in a leave of absence of three months or more. An extension may be granted for the number of months duly justified.
o Maternity/Paternity. An extension of 1 year may be granted for each child born after the date of the PhD defense. If the candidate can justify longer maternity/paternity leave, the eligibility period will be extended accordingly.
o Mandatory national service: an extension can be requested for the number of months demonstrated.

3. Research experience (participation, leading and potential) in competitive research projects (ERC, EU H2020, Marie Curie Fellowships, etc), transfer projects and contracts, etc. (0-10 points)
4. Suitability of the candidate for research line (0-30 points)
Candidate must reach a minimum score of 65 points.
Selection process
INSA-UB fully endorses and shares the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (SFDORA; https://sfdora.org/ ), by which it discourages evaluators to rely only on journal- based metrics (such as Journal Impact Factors) as a surrogate measure for the quality of individual research articles. For the purposes of research assessment, INSA-UB considers the value of all research outputs, including qualitative indicators of research impact.
