Postdoc Researcher (Ref. 28/2019)

Updated: about 1 month ago
Deadline: 31 Jul 2019

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) invites applications for one postdoctoral position to be part of the group of Dr Julia Qüesta. The group will start up at CRAG from July 1st 2019 to elucidate novel roles of epigenetic mechanisms in promoting plant developmental transitions.

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://biennialreport2016-2017.cragenomica.es/ ).

We are looking for a highly talented and creative new team member with a strong interest in epigenetics and plant development. Postdoctoral scientists are expected to conduct innovative research to investigate the role of chromatin silencing complexes and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in controling early seedling establishment in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Aspects of this multidisciplinary project will involve genetic, genomic, proteomic and bioimaging approaches.
