About the research group

The Pancreas Regeneration team is part of the Regenbell program at IDIBELL and the Department of Physiological Science at University of Barcelona-Campus Bellvitge. The team has several projects focused on pancreas biology, pancreas regeneration and pancreatic cancer with a special focused on pancreatic ductal cells.

About the role

The candidate will join an international research team focused on investigating pancreas regeneration and pancreatic cancer. The candidate will be involved in a new research project focused on the identification of new pancreatic cancer biomarkers based on cell of origin of the tumour by using novel mouse models.

Job requirements

Professional experience

Biomedical research experience during PhD and/or postdoctoral training

Education and training

PhD degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or any related field

Animal license certificate up to date 

Technical & soft skills

Excellent technical skills and strong experience with mouse models, biochemical and cell biology-based techniques; experience in cancer biology.

High level of motivation, commitment and teamwork.

Ability to work independently and advise predoctoral researchers.

Languages

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

We will value, but not required

Previous experience in pancreas biology and pancreatic cancer
Expertise in flow cytometry
Expertise in imaging techniques
