OFFER DESCRIPTION

The School of Forestry Engineering (SFE), from the University of Vigo, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the Resonate – Resilient forest value chains – enhancing resilience through natural and socio-economic responses project funded by the European Union’s H2020 Programme.

Employment Period: 6 months (extendable)

Salary: According to specific experience and qualifications of the candidate


Selection process

The selection process will be conducted by a committee composed by two members of REDE research group. Only best ranked candidates after CV assessment will be contacted for an interview. The evaluation criteria will be assessed as follows:

  • Evaluation of CV: 70% (20% training, 40% professional experience, 10% other qualifications)
  • Interview: 30%

Requirements
Required Research Experiences


  • RESEARCH FIELD
    Agricultural sciences

  • YEARS OF RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
    1 - 4

Offer Requirements

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL
    Agricultural sciences: PhD or equivalent

  • REQUIRED LANGUAGES
    SPANISH: Good
    PORTUGUESE: Good
    ENGLISH: Excellent

Skills/Qualifications

  • Forestry training
  • Experience in research in an international level (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience in research in the field of the forest management and/or supply chain. It will be especially valuable the experience related with Pinus pinaster.
  • Experience in research in EU funded projects in relevant areas for the project topic
  • Experience in projects related to the forest sector of the regions of Galicia and Northern Portugal

Other assessable qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing research projects
  • Able to work autonomously and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Stakeholders in the regions of Galicia and/or Northern Portugal


Specific Requirements

As part of the research School of Forestry Engineering team in the Resonate project, the successful candidate will:

  • Carry out research related to the analysis of the forest management and forest supply chain in the regions of Galicia and Northern Portugal.
  • Contribute to the production of scientific articles related to the project topics
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals related to the project topics
  • Contribute to technical reporting of the project activities
