ISGlobal is leading several COVID-19 related research projects exploring the links between the environment and COVID-related outcomes and the health impacts of the pandemic response. These projects leverage ISGlobal’s unique expertise in both environmental and infectious disease epidemiology.

What We Are Looking for:

We are recruiting a post-doctoral researcher to join our dynamic team in the Urban Environment and Air Pollution research programme. The researcher will be based in the research group of Cathryn Tonne, Associate Research Professor and involved in the project Air Pollution in relation to COVID-19 morbidity and mortality: a large population-based cohort study in Catalonia, Spain (COVAIR-CAT) funded by the Health Effects Institute. The position will involve conducting statistical analysis in a large dataset (i.e. over 5 million participants), application of advanced statistical techniques, and drafting publications related to the impact of air pollution on COVID-19 hospital admission and mortality and identification of vulnerable population subgroups.

Specific Duties:

  • Coordinating health and environmental exposure databases
  • Conduct statistical analyses
  • Draft original articles for publication in high impact journals
  • Disseminate findings at conferences, workshops, scientific journals, and other channels
