ICFO is offering 3 postdoctoral positions to well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientists who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum Optics Theory group led by Prof. Maciej Lewenstein. The group research is very broad and ranges from quantum optics, through attocines, statistical physic, classical and quantum many body theory, machine learning, to quantum simulators and quantum information, with an emphasis quantum correlations in many body systems and quantum thermodynamics.
The candidate will be working under the ERC Advanced Grant project NOQIA: NOvel Quantum simulators – connectIng Areas , funded by the ERC (more details to be found on the Prof. Maciej Lewestein ICFO web page: https://www.icfo.eu/lang/research/groups/groups-details?group_id=23 ). NOQIA will bring together a multidisciplinary team, including academic, research and industrial partners, working on the development, demonstration and certification of quantum simulators of atto-physics devices, atto-physics insight into many body physics with condensed matter and atoms, applications of neural networks and machine learning to quantum many body physics and vice versa and quantum neural networks employing topological effects. The role of the hired researchers will be to work, if possible in all of these areas, with focus on at least one of them.
