Post-doctoral position in Quantum Light Emitters based on Colloidal Quantum Dots (# of pos: 2)

Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 12 Jan 2022

ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group at ICFO, led by ICREA Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos, is looking for outstanding, creative and highly motivated researchers to develop novel scalable technologies for quantum optical communications. The project is on developing quantum materials and photonic structures to operate in the telecom wavelength as quantum light sources for single and entangled photon generation.

Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) in Physics or Electrical Engineering, prior to taking up the position.

The candidates should have demonstrated experience and hands-on expertise on the design, fabrication, characterization and optimization of quantum light emitters. We are in particularly looking for candidates with the following profiles:

1. Demonstrated expertise on designing, setting up and characterising quantum light emission, including micro-PL and antibunching measurements (e.g. HBT). Prior expertise on quantum dots or solid-state emitters as quantum light sources will be positively evaluated.

2. Strong experience on design, simulation, optimization and nano-fabrication of photonic structures and cavities for single photon emission. Prior expertise on coupling and deterministic positioning of quantum nano-emitters within photonic structures will be considered a plus.
