Post-doctoral position in low-noise electron transport in twisted bilayer graphene systems

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 23 Jul 2022

ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum NanoElectronics and NanoMechanics group led by Prof. Dr. Adrian Bachtold, and will be part of the new joint laboratory with Prof. Dr. Frank Koppens (ICFO) and Prof. Dr. Jarillo-Herrero (MIT).

This project is part of the science and technology based on quantum materials, from advanced superconducting materials, to van der Waals materials, moiré quantum matter, collective phenomena, strong light-matter interactions and more. In particular, the project involves nano-electronic and nano-optical studies of quantum and moiré materials and devices. Many advanced tools will be available such as (diluation) cryostats with optical access, cryogenic scanning near-field microscope, etc.

This project will focus on ultra-sensitive electrical measurements of current correlation, thermopower and thermal conduction in twisted 2D materials in a dilution fridge.
