The Translational Research in Hepatic Oncology laboratory at IDIBAPS-Hospital Clinic, University of Barcelona is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The Principal Investigator Prof Josep M Llovet is Full Professor of Medicine at UB and Professor of Research-ICREA.

The main goal of our laboratory is to unravel the molecular determinants of liver cancer, identify novel treatments for HCC patients and discover predictors of response to molecular and immune therapies. We lead an International Consortium devoted to liver cancer research, and have produced important contributions in the field during the last years. Our research is focused around the generation and analysis of high-throughput genomic data and state-of-the-art disease models.

Current areas of interest include the identification of mechanisms driving immune infiltration in HCC, biomarkers of response to treatments (including immune checkpoint inhibitors and combinations), and the development of mouse models capable of recapitulating specific HCC features for testing the efficacy of different therapies and assessing drug mechanisms of action. Our efforts are supported by several national and international grants.

REQUIREDEXPERIENCE

· Experience in cancer research

· Stays abroad (>1 year), preferably in worldwide recognized scientific institutions.

Added value if:

· Experience in cancer molecular biology

· Experience in cancer genomics

· Experience in immunology

· Experience in animal modeling of cancer

Gross salary: 30-40.000€/years, depending on experience and qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS

· PhD. in a research field related to cancer translational medicine

· Advanced level in written and spoken English

· Prior 1st author-publications

· Hardworking and motivated

. Willing to relocate to Prof Llovet’s Lab in Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York if needed (​Gross salary: 45-55.000€/years)
