Introduction to the vacant position:

The Signal and Information Processing for Sensing Systems Group is looking for a Researcher to work in biomedical data analysis. The contract will be within the framework of: Projectes de recerca “La Marató”, whose objective Anticipation of respiratory outcomes in ICU COVID-19 patients by metabolic signatures.

  • Full time 1,5 year contract Open ended.

    Computer science: Master Degree or equivalent
    Engineering: Master Degree or equivalent
    Mathematics: Master Degree or equivalent

  • REQUIRED LANGUAGES
    ENGLISH: Excellent

Skills/Qualifications

Requirements for candidates:

  • MSc (or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering
  • Previous experience in some of the following domains:
    • Advanced Statistics
    • Omics Data Analysis
    • Machine Learning
  • Experience in R programming, visualization and package building
  • Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
  • High level of English


Specific Requirements

Other valuable skills:

  • International research experience
  • Programming in Python and/or MATLAB
  • Linux Administration
  • Previous experience in the analysis of biomedical/metabolomics datasets

Experience in querying metabolomic databases.
