Skills/Qualifications

Specific tasks:

- During months 1-6, the researcher will formulate a Bayesian statistical approach to learn directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) from multivariate data, where the parameterization is designed to consider that the goal is to know the total causal effect of a treatment variable on an outcome. The formulation will include the study of the relationship between this parameterization and standard DAG parameterizations, regarding the interpretation of the parameters and how to impose constraints to enforce the conditional independences imposed by the DAG.
- During months 7-12 the researcher will implement the methodology developed in open source software, illustrate the methodology with empirical examples and prepare a manuscript for publication.
