A new RIA Grant started at the University of Barcelona in June 2022 for 5 years. The grant is awarded to Dr Mel Slater, Director of the Event Lab (www.melslater.me) . The Event Lab is an internationally known research lab in the field of virtual reality, and is also addresses interdisciplinary problems in psychology and neuroscience using virtual reality. The international project as a whole is very broad concerned with the effects of environmental change on mental health and how to alleviate it. The project web page is https://www.environmental-project.org . At UB our role is concerned with using Virtual Reality to model aspects of the impact of environmental change on individuals leading to possible methods to improve resilience. This will involve building a multi-person VR application in conjunction with imaging techniques including EEG.
