The primary focus of this role is to develop algorithms based on artificial intelligence to monitor the planet. This entails working with commercial and open-source numerical software The numerical findings will be cross-validated with experimental data sourced from literature and internally generated results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in and oversee the research project alongside the Principal Investigator (PI), and other team members to ensure the timely achievement of project goals.
  • Meet project deliverables within specified timeframes, including:
    • Exploring diverse numerical models capable of capturing droplet behavior across steady and transient states, spanning nanometer to millimeter scales.
    • Developing numerical methodologies to monitor the planet accurately
    • Comparing and validating numerical outcomes with experimental data from literature and internal experiments.
    • Utilizing cutting-edge machine learning techniques to craft multi-scale models.
  • Assist the PI in drafting reports, conference proceedings, and journal articles based on project outcomes.
  • Provide fortnightly progress reports to the PI.
  • Support and manage procurement and upkeep of software/hardware under the PI's jurisdiction.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively within a team to ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.

Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Software Engineering, Physics or Mathematics 
  • Proficiency in mathematical modelling and programming for different areas of knowledge
  • Experience with commercial and open-source numerical software
  • Ability to handle and analyze large datasets proficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English
