Drosophila tissue material compatibility with the nanopillars

Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 18 Oct 2021

Cells change their shape upon stressors or in pathological conditions. The forces that maintain the integrity of a cell or an epithelium can be deteriorated in certain mutant backgrounds such as mutants that induce tumorogenesis. The project consists in designing a nano-device, based on nanopillars, to monitor the surface cellular properties in animal cells and tissues. The candidate will take care of testing different tissues in culture and monitor the changes of cells after chemical or genetic manipulation. In addition, mutants that alter the epithelial condition will be used to test the capacity of the nanopillars to detect genetic changes in vivo. The candidate will interact with an international team of physicists and give support to their advancement in the generation of the nanopillars.
