The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role

A new position is open for a Data Scientist at the CRG/UPF Proteomics Unit in Barcelona. The successful applicant will become a part of an international team of scientists, which is working closely with scientists at the Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona. The available position is in a laboratory that focuses on the analysis of proteomes using mass spectrometry. The person recruited will lead the analysis of proteome longitudinal variability, assessment of proteome information content, generation of prediction models, and the analysis of plasma proteomes from selected cohorts in the context of personalized medicine. We are looking for highly motivated and organized candidates with a strong background in data science, statistics, and proteomics and/or other type of omics data. Candidates must have good communication skills, capable of working in a group, and with a high degree of work autonomy.

About the team

The Proteomics Unit is a joint effort of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Center of Genomic Regulation to create an innovative research infrastructure with a high-level of excellence and sustainability to support scientists in the biomedical field. The activities of the Proteomics Unit are focused onto the provision of high-quality proteomics services with strong added-value to the research community by offering state-of-the-art methods, advise and expertise to support basic and translational researchers, developing new methods and techniques that keep the unit up to date and at the forefront of the proteomics field and training the community and actively disseminating proteomics science and methods.
