The mission of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is to achieve the highest level of scientific and technological excellence in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Its research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behaviour of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 has been awarded with the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence distinction for three consecutive periods (2014-2018 and 2018-2022 and 2023-2026). ICN2 comprises 19 Research Groups, 7 Technical Development and Support Units and Facilities, and 2 Research Platforms, covering different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Job Title: Competitive Funding Assistant

Research area or group: Competitive Funding

Description of Group/Project:

The Competitive Funding Department is devoted to support the researchers in managing competitive funds for research in compliance with the terms, conditions and requirements of the funding agencies throughout all the life of each funded project and in an individual way. This includes to provide comprehensive support in the preparation and submission of proposals and in grant acceptance, to fulfil administrative and reporting requirements of the funding agencies for active grants and to manage their budgets.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

Administrative support to the Principal Researcher with the budget and projects and grant proposals related to health, ecological transition, green economy, artificial intelligence, data science and similar.

Close follow up the grants and projects resolutions published in the official webpages and official communication of projects and grants acceptance.

All administrative aspects related with the above mentioned tasks for the final audit of grants and projects.

All necessary paperwork for the correct financial and technical justification, including a close follow-up of all funds' incomes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (Scientific or Financial).
  • Knowledge: High level in English and Spanish. Catalan and other languages will be a plus.
  •  Professional experience: No previous experience is required
  • Personal Competences: Very good organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to work with deadlines, manage priorities, and high attention to detail.

Summary of conditions:

  • Full time work (37,5h/week)
  • Contract Length: Temporary (1 year)
  • Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
  • Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
  • Support to the relocation issues.
  • Life Insurance.

Estimated Incorporation date: 15 December 2023

Candidate requirements:

  • Being unemployed and registered in the "Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya" the day before the contract starts.
  • Being between 16 and 30 years old.
  • Meeting the requirements for formalizing a training contract
