Who is RMIT Europe?

We’re the creative and dynamic European hub of RMIT University – a multi-sector university of technology, design and enterprise with more than 91,000 students and 11,000 staff globally.

Based in the heart of Barcelona, our focus is on successfully extending RMIT’s international engagement and strategically growing the University’s collaborative research and education activity in Europe.

We facilitate RMIT's collaboration in the development of innovative pan-European projects attracting global knowledge from Europe, Australia and Asia to deliver local impact.

We’re a collaborative and dynamic international team, passionate about driving impact through our work, celebrating our achievement, and having fun along the way.

Let’s talk about the role.

As a key member of the communications team at RMIT Europe, the Communications and Events Advisor is an important and collaborative role leading a range of communications activities and events for European funded projects.

Reporting to our Senior Manager, Corporate Relations and Communications, this role has a diverse existence from day-to-day. One day you might be developing the communications strategy for a project campaign or working on the management of a project event, and the next you might be scheduling social posts for a project’s social media campaign.

No two days are the same, and you need to be nimble to keep all the different balls in the air. You’ll have a huge amount of variety daily, it’s fast-paced and you’ll need to lead with initiative and have the ability to think on your feet.

In this role, you’ll have a Communications and Events Assistant reporting to you.

About the team.

You’ll be joining an ambitious (and fun-loving) team of experienced professionals who are passionate about making a difference and delivering real impact.

What will you be accountable for?

  • Supporting and delivering on communications and event initiatives as per communication and dissemination plans for a range of European funded projects including coordinated projects.
  • Developing and delivering accessible content with a digital first approach, including content for project websites, social channels, videos, infographics, fact sheets, posters, protocols, guides, slide kits and newsletters.
  • Planning and organising events, including seminars, workshops, training programs and launches in multiple delivery formats (online, hybrid and in-person).
  • Supporting and delivering on reporting requirements to the European Commission and project partners, including deliverables, project meetings, mid-term and annual reports.
  • Supporting, leveraging and maintaining key relationships with project stakeholders including partners, media, researchers and industry.
  • Other duties to support RMIT Europe as specified by the Senior Manager, Corporate Relations and Communications.
