Bioinformatician Next Generation Sequencing

Updated: over 1 year ago
Deadline: 13 Oct 2022

The Institute

The Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG-CRG) is a world reference center for genomic analysis, with state of the art Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, including three NovaSeq6000 (the most powerful sequencer in the market), several equipment for long read sequencing, single cell genomics and spatial genomics applications, and an outstanding computing infrastructure. The operation is certified ISO 9001 and accredited ISO 17025. Every year, the CNAG-CRG carries out more than 400 projects in DNA/RNA sequence analysis for the improvement of quality of life in collaboration with the Spanish, European and International Research Community.

CNAG-CRG researchers participate in major International Genomic Initiatives such as the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC), the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), the Human Cell Atlas (HCA), the Earth BioGenome Project (EBP), the European Joint Project-Rare Diseases (EJP-RD), the European Infrastructure for life-science information (ELIXIR) and the 1+ Million Genomes Initiative (1+MG), as well as in several EU-funded projects.

CNAG-CRG is integrated within the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG shares principles of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team that is supported by high-end and innovative technologies and a flexible and efficient administration. CRG has been conferred with a badge of ‘HR Excellence in Research ’ by the European Commission, in recognition to its progress in implementing the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers , that among others consists of transparent, merit-based recruitment procedures and attractive work-life balance working conditions.
