The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role

We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician. The hired person will work on the development of bioinformatics tools and pipelines to analyze, integrate and visualize multi omics (transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, functional genomics).

About the lab

The Sdelci Lab at the CRG is focused on understanding the role of chromatin-bound metabolic enzymes in epigenetic regulation during aggressive cancer development and progression.

Whom would we like to hire?

Professional experience

Must Have

• You have experience analyzing omics data (at least one among: RNAseq, proteomics, functional genomics, epigenomics)
• You have software development capabilities and experience with R/Bioconductor, Python, and/or Perl

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

• You have experience with AI
• You have experience analyzing High content/High Throughput images (e.g. from array phenotypic cellular screenings)
• You have knowledge in omics integration and visualization

Education and training

• You hold a PhD in bioinformatics or related

Languages

• You are fluent in English

Technical skills

• You have deep knowledge in statistical data analysis
• You have robust understanding of statistical concepts

Competences

• You have highly developed organization skills
• You have a multi-tasking, problem solving and proactive attitude
• You have strong analytical skills
• You have excellent communication skills
• You are a team player

The Offer – Working conditions

• Contract duration: 1 year with possibility of extension.
• Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
• Target start date: No later than March 2022.
