Offer Description
The Department of Aerospace Engineering (DAE) of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Spain (www.uc3m.es ) is opening a hiring process for positions of Assistant Professor (Ref. AERO-24-04-AP) and Young Visiting Professor (Ref. AERO-24-04-YVP).
Desired background and skills:
● Field of experience: Aerospace Engineering or related fields
● Experience aligned with or complementing strengths of the Department (https://aero.uc3m.es/ )
● Independent research potential, critical thinking, ability to cope with innovation and interdisciplinarity.
● Postdoctoral experience of up to 8 years
Teaching duties
● Teaching and coordination of subjects in the BSc/MSc degrees in Aerospace Engineering (https://aero.uc3m.es/teaching/ )
● Around 75 hours per semester, including regular courses, BSc and MSc Theses advising.
Research duties
● To help consolidating a competitive research program in one or more areas of Aerospace Engineering
● To help building competitive proposals for research funding
● To publish in high-ranked journals
● To advise PhD Theses.
General duties
● All regular management, representation, and dissemination activities of faculty members.

Eligibility criteria
The Hiring Committee of the Department will assess the applications and will video-interview only a limited set of most suitable candidates. The decision of this first Committee must be later confirmed by the Hiring Committee of the University.
