Job title: Drug Repurposing para o Desenvolvimento Efetivo e Acelerado de Medicamentos no Espaço SUDOE (RePo-SUDOE)

Research line / Scientific-technical services: Information and Communications Technologies

The Center for Information and Communication Technologies Research (CITIC) comprises over 200 researchers. Integrated into the network of research centers of the Galician University System, it provides high-performance computing infrastructures specialized in artificial intelligence, data science and engineering, high-performance computing, intelligent services and networks, and cybersecurity, facilitating the execution of projects in these fields.

The present contract is convened under the Drug Repurposing for Effective and Accelerated Drug Development in the SUDOE Space (RePo-SUDOE) project, of which the University of A Coruña is the Beneficiary. The project will be developed in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (Portugal), the University of Santiago de Compostela, the Cluster Saúde de Galicia association, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (France), the Portuguese Society of Public Health, and MD USE innovations SL. Additionally, we have privileged associated partners such as the General Pharmacy Directorate of the Galician Health Service, the Clinical Academic Center of Beiras (Portugal), and the Cancéropôle Grand Sud-Ouest (France).

The project S1/1.1/P0033 (Drug Repurposing for Effective and Accelerated Drug Development in the SUDOE Space) is co-financed by the European Union at a rate of 75%, under the INTERREG-SUDOE 2021-2027 Program, Priority 2 "Promoting social cohesion and territorial and demographic balance in the Sudoe through innovation and the transformation of productive sectors", Specific Objective RSO.1.1 "Develop and improve research and innovation capacities and assimilate advanced technologies".

Skills/Qualifications

High School, BUP (Basic Unified Polytechnic Education), FPII (Formación Profesional de Segundo Grado), Higher Vocational Training Cycle.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Required Degree: as indicated in Annex III of the Hiring Call.

• Obtain at least 50 points in the selection criteria specified below. The position may remain vacant if none of the candidates exceeds this limit.

• Candidates must be available to travel to attend meetings, conferences, and events.


Specific Requirements

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1) All applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application and maintain them throughout the duration of the contract:

a) Hold Spanish nationality or any other nationality granting equal rights for employment purposes in the Public Administration, as determined by state regulations.

b) Possess the required qualifications and fulfill other requirements stipulated in the call.

c) Be at least sixteen years old and not have exceeded the maximum retirement age, if applicable.

d) Have the necessary functional capacity to perform the corresponding functions or tasks described in the memorandum.

e) Have not been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings from the service of any Public Administration or constitutional or statutory bodies of the Autonomous Communities, nor be in a situation of absolute or special disqualification for public employment or office by court order, to access a body or scale of public servant, or to perform functions analogous to those from which the person was dismissed or disqualified. In the case of being a national of another State, the applicant must not be disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor have been subject to disciplinary or equivalent sanction that prevents, in their State, under the same terms, access to public employment.

2) The hiring of foreigners from non-EU countries, which will be formalized solely for the purpose of carrying out research or technical tasks, will require the presentation, at the time of contract signing, of the residence and work permit for employed work or evidence of the existence of an exception for said permit, in accordance with Organic Law 4/2000 of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration, and implementing regulations.

Eligibility criteria

MERIT ASSESSMENT CRITERIA (assessment out of 100 points):

The selection process will consist of the following stages:

1. Evaluation of applications based on the documentation received. The suitability of candidates to the requirements of the call will be checked. A prioritized order of candidates will be established.

2. Personal interview. Up to a maximum of three candidates from the previous prioritized list with the highest scores, and always having reached a minimum score of 50 points, will be invited to a personal interview to assess their abilities and suitability for the position. The personal interview will account for 20% of the final qualification.

It is mandatory to have a certified minimum English level of C1, and a French level of B2 due to the international nature of the project and the shared management tasks among consortium members outlined in this contract.

A. Academic Record (maximum 45 points):

1) High School Diploma, BUP, FPII, Higher Vocational Training Cycle (up to 15 points, in proportion to the academic record grade). If the average grade of the academic record is below 8, the score obtained will be multiplied by 0.5.

2) Passed university entrance exam (up to 15 points, in proportion to the academic record grade). If the average grade is below 8, the score obtained will be multiplied by 0.5.

3) Partial or complete university studies related to the research lines of the research unit (up to 15 points, in proportion to the academic record grade). At least 75% of the credits leading to the degree must have been completed. If the average grade of the completed credits is below 7.5, the score obtained will be multiplied by 0.5.

B. Language Skills (maximum 20 points):

1) Level A1 to B2: 5 points

2) Higher than B2: 10 points Mode of accreditation: Certificate of language proficiency level indicating the level achieved according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent.

C. Other merits not considered in the previous sections (maximum 15 points):

1) Awards received: up to 3 points depending on the regional (1 point), national (2 points), or international (3 points) scope of the award.

2) Experience in research activities organized by Universities or research centers of recognized prestige: up to 5 points (1 point per activity).

3) International mobility (ERASMUS, ERASMUS+, etc.) carried out in countries with an official language different from English/French (10 points), other countries (5 points).

4) Demonstrable experience in content generation for websites and social media platforms (1 point)

D. Interview (max. 20 points) The objective of the interview is to better understand the capabilities and interests of the candidates, assess their suitability for the position, and gather more information about their previous experience. The conditions for conducting the interview are as mentioned at the beginning of this section.
