Offer Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated post-doctoral researcher to work on the CLIMEX (‘Climate Influences
on Extreme Sea-level Events’) project. The role will focus on determining how climate change affects the likelihood of
sea-level extremes in the mid-latitudes, whilst assessing the relative role of sea-level rise and changes in storminess in
these scenarios. The research will involve analysing climate observations and outputs from climate models through
cutting-edge, Bayesian (deep) hierarchical models, with AI elements. The successful candidate will publish high
quality research outcomes, and present findings at national and international meetings and conferences.
The successful candidate will be part of the Sea Level and Marine Climate Research Group at the University of the
Balearic Islands (UIB) in Spain and have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from the group and the
Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), with whom we work closely. They will also receive support to
further develop their skills and career.
