We are looking for a collegiate and creative senior postdoctoral researcher with demonstrated research expertise in palaeoecology with quantitative skills.

The main goal of TIME-LINES is to quantify on islands, ~5000 years of ranges of variability at local and global scale, with the ultimate aim to uncover geographical variation in plant biodiversity, both taxonomically and functionally, and the drivers of this change. The post is available from 1st October 2022.

The TIME-LINES team is interested in island ecology and specially bringing palaeoecology and biogeography together to quantify how fast, where, and why biodiversity is changing.

From these findings, we hope to address to what degree historically informed baselines and change trajectories have utility for sustainable biodiversity management.

- Analyse large palaeoecological datasets including (but not limited) to fossil pollen, sedaDNA, isotops, etc. from islands.

- Carry out laboratory work involving palaeoecological techniques such as fossil pollen.

- Undertake cutting-edge scientific research, and publish in appropriate, leading journals.
