Job position:

Postdoctoral researcher to form part of multidisciplinary research team in the ERC Advanced grant project: HE ERC-2021-ADG, no. 101054069, SOUNDSPACE, ‘How Processions Moved: Sound and Space in the Performance of Urban Ritual, c.1400-c.1700’, under the supervision of Dr Tess Knighton (PI)

Job position requirements:

Background requires expertise in historical study in at least one of the following areas: medieval/early modern history, cultural history, history of art/architecture or history of music, experience in archival research and an interest in historical sound; willingness to work as part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative research team

Benefits:

Salary from 35,000€ to 37.100€;

37.5 hours per week;

22 days summer holiday plus bank holidays, Christmas holidays and Easter week.

Office space and portable computer supplied.

Eligibility criteria: PhD (medieval/early modern history) within last 10 years

Acadèmic record: 25

Relevant research experience, including DH experience, and potential: 25

Motivation: 20

Interview and dossier 20

Language skills: 10

Selection process:

Stage 1: assessment based on required documentation

Stage 2: interview, as necessary

Starting date by 1 February 2023 (some flexibility)
