Characterization of molecular mechanisms responsible for age-related cognitive and muscular deterioration.

Job Location: Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute (Donostia – San Sebastián).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The activities of the candidate will be:

• Identification of new biological markers through novel and omics approaches.
• Analysis and comparison with studies published by other research groups.
• Clinical validation of the identified patterns.
• Development of multiparametric studies.
• Functional studies in primary cell cultures and mouse models.
• Leadership in projects and publications.
• Day-to-day project and personnel management.

Skills/Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Doctors in the fields of Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Pharmacy and/or similar will be eligible.
• High level of written and spoken English.
• At least 3 publications as first or last author in Q1 journals.

• VALUABLE

• Experience in research in aging and neurosciences.
• Experience and knowledge in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.
• Knowledge in molecular and cellular biology techniques.
• Previous experience working with mouse animal models.
• Stays abroad in centers of excellence.

• *A disability of 33% or higher is deemed valuable.

CONTRACTUAL CONDITIONS

• TYPE OF CONTRACT (LEGAL REFERENCE): 36-month Postdoctoral Access contract with the possibility of an extension.
• WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time.
• EXPECTED START DATE: 1 of April 2024.
• ANNUAL GROSS SALARY R2: €28,000 - €42,000 per year (gross).
• ANNUAL GROSS SALARY R3: €35,000 - €46,000 per year (gross).

The remuneration shall be based on the candidate’s commitment and merit, as well as how suited they are for the role. The worker must comply with the operating rules set by the Biogipuzkoa Institute in terms of commitment, duties, working hours, leave entitlements, etc.

EVALUATION (MAXIMUM OF 100 POINTS WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW AND 125 POINTS WITH AN INTERVIEW)

Only applications that meet the REQUIRED competencies in the offer shall be taken into account.

• EXPERIENCE:  45 points
• PROVEN LANGUAGE SKILLS: 5 points
• OTHER DISTINCTIONS: 40 ponts
• CERTIFICATE VERIFYING A MINIMUM DISABILITY OF 33%: 10 points
• INTERVIEW: (0-25 POINTS)
