The position is open for researchers to work in the field of photoelectrocatalysis. An ideal postdoc must have expertise in synthesis of inorganic materials such as metal oxides, metal phosphides or similar materials using wet-chemistry approaches. The candidate must have published in the topic of photo/electrocatalysis at least 3 scientific papers in international journals. The candidate is expected to design new catalysts and test them for photo/electrocatalytic oxygen reduction, hydrogen evolution, CO2 reduction, synthesis of molecules and water remediation.
Research activities will take place at the Material Research Laboratory .
The employment will be possible immediately after the selection procedure or when agreed. The employment is offered for full-time working hours over a fixed term of one year
Fields of work and research:
- research support from the field of photo/electrocatalysis;
- to work independently on research projects from the field of photo/electrocatalysis;
- support the implementation of project and teaching activities.

The successful candidate should satisfy the following requirements:
• a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, Environmental sciences or equivalent degree
• experience from the fields related to the job description;
• experienced user of scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, fluorescence spectrometer, physisorption/chemisorption analyzer, thermogravimeter, and potentiostate:
• good publication record;
• very good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
The application should include:
• cover letter;
• CV including contact details;
• list of relevant publications;
• two letters of recommendations;
• it would be advantageous for the candidate to submit a tentative plan of research activities on the development of materials for
photo/electrocatalytic CO2 reduction, oxygen reduction and hydrogen generation (max. 2 pages).
The application deadline: 8 12. 2022.
Send your application, along with the required supporting materials, via e-mail to [email protected] . The application should be sent as a single pdf e-mail attachment.
Inquiries regarding the application procedure should be directed to Tea Stibilj Nemec by email at [email protected] or by phone at +386 5 6205 822.
