Postdoctoral researcher in the field of electrocatalys

The University of Nova Gorica is offering position of   postdoctoral researcher in the field of electrocatalys (m/f)

The position is open for researchers to work in the field of electrocatalysis. An ideal postdoc must have expertise in the synthesis of inorganic materials such as metal carbides, metal phosphides or similar materials using solvothermal approaches. The candidate must  have published in the topic of electrocatalysis at least 4 scientific papers as a first author in international journals. The candidate is expected to design new catalysts and test them for electrocatalytic oxygen reduction, hydrogen evolution and water remediation.

Research activities will take place at the Material Research Laboratory .

The employment will be possible immediately after the selection procedure or when agreed.  The employment is offered for full-time  working hours over a fixed term of one year.

Fields of work and research:

• research support from the field of photo/electrocatalysis;

• to work independently work on research projects from the field of electrocatalysis;

• support the implementation of project and teaching activities.

The successful candidate should satisfy the following requirements::

• a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Environmental sciences or equivalent degree

• experience from the fields related to the job description;

• experienced user of scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, thermogravimeter, and potentiostate:

• good publication record;

• very good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
